Congratulations on 28lbs gone!!! I hit a plateau at 6 weeks out. Your body

is just trying to catch up with all the major changes. As for gaining and

losing the same 2 or 3 lbs....don't weigh yourself every day. Once a week at

most, and make sure you weigh at the same time every day. I can weigh myself

5 times a day and get 5 different weights. Keep walking, try to drink a

little bit more water....I would try to eat a little more in the way of

calories as well. My surgeon has me eating 6 times a day. Small meals...a

protein drink or glass of milk can count as a meal. I've lost 60lbs in the

first 3 months and am at another plateau. They suck, but they go away. Good

luck :o)

60 grams of protein on the avg. at a web site i go to some seem to think i

I'm only a couple of weeks ahead of you and only weighed a little less

than you did pre-op. I had the exact same problem. It was compounded

by having a friend who had the surgery a year earlier tell me I would

automatically lose 30 lbs in 30 days. Boy did that not happen for

me!!I was feeling like a failure. And I knew I was hardly taking in

any calories at all.

My doctor told me even though my start was slow, I was still " on the

curve " and was doing fine.

The other point is that a lot of people start out with much more

weight to lose, therefore their loss is greater.

The good news is the weight loss kicked back in again and as of

Wednesday I'd lost 35 lbs.

I was put on a walking schedule my first week out from surgery and increasing

it each week. I was told that after my 6 week healing time I should start

regular exercising. Without exercising you won't lose. You won't be able to

tone up the muscle you do have a create muscle that you want. You should of

course talk to your surgeon for their exercise programs and timetables. Good

luck with your surgery.
