Guest guest
Yipeeeeeeeee I admit I thought it was someone else! I didn't know you sewed! Those fabric and thread boxes were the best things you could possibly have sent me! I have had more fun with those than I would have with anything else!!! You were a great Pal now tell me what YOU made with that fabric!!! I've been dying to know who you were so I could ask! Thanks for everything and take your time! I haven't sent June out either LOL Christy Christy - SS Christy, I'll reveal myself online, because I've been slow & lazy & your June box is not in the mail yet. I've had fun trying to surprise you every month. Don't get too excited about the June box; it's not much, but I think you'll like it. Now, if the weather will cooperate so I can finish putting it together. Guest guest
Christy, I started sewing before I started school. I used to make anything & everything - clothes, curtains, whatever I wanted. Over the last few years I seem to have lost interest; actually, as my energy level has decreased I've chosen to spend my time on other things. I still have leftover fabric, thread, notions, cross-stitch stuff; I have a partially finished braided rug, a cross stitch sampler I started 11 yrs ago, & 3 quilt tops I started years ago. I used to buy ribbon & trim at sales & outlets - loads of it. I still hope to get back to these things someday, but I'm also trying to face reality & know that it's going to be a long time, if ever. So, I decided to share with you because I knew you'd have fun with it. I'm keeping my bookcase full of craft & sewing books, just in case. Now, the white fabric was from Amy's drum major uniform. The black lace was from her senior prom dress; the white net was the crinoline under the prom dress. Is that all I sent you? Oh, I think I told you about my sewing machine quitting a few weeks ago. It was old, & it was Sun., & I really needed to do some mending, so I went to Wal-Mart & bought the most basic machine they had (which was a lot fancier than my old machine). took the old one to the repair shop just to see if he knew someone who might want to try to repair it. It was repaired for $15.00! So has been on the phone & found out the abused women's shelter here would love to have it. They have one sewing machine & the women have to share it. I think he's dropping it off today. Isn't that great? Gotta shower & get ready for a tough day at work today. Our supervisor's hubby had emergency bypass surgery yesterday, so we're working short-staffed for a while. Dick has diabetes, crohn's disease, has finally recovered from hip replacement surgery, now triple bypass surgery. Everyone have a good day! -- Re: Christy - SS Yipeeeeeeeee I admit I thought it was someone else! I didn't know you sewed! Guest guest
Christy, Now I'm crying. Actually, thought of the women's shelter. He's at the soup kitchen & meets more people involved in helping here. I do have a good husband. Hugs, -- Re: Christy - SS , that could have been your last gift to me!!! For those that don't know, I'm alive today because of the staff at a woman's shelter that took in me and 3 kids and raised the kids for 3 weeks until I was "me again" and able to get back on the job. Then they helped me find a job and a place to live and I owed it to them not to go back (again) to my abusive idiot! I am so thrilled you thought to give that to a shelter! Way to go and Thank you! Now I wanna see pictures of the dress and uniform! LOL Especially the dress! Christy - SS Christy, I'll reveal myself online, because I've been slow & lazy & your June box is not in the mail yet.
