If you don't mind me butting in, I personally think a protective order is better than a restraining order. I think you have to have an attorney to do this though. Some day, when you're looking and feeling a whole lot better, you'll look back on this terrible time you're going through and wonder how you could have ever taken his BS. My ex-husband used to beat the crap our of me. You will do fine with surgery and you will be a happier and healthier you and he'll be tho one who will have the regrets in the end. Guest guest Posted July 7, 2004 Report Share Posted July 7, 2004 Cherie My heart goes out to you honey I have been through a very abusive relationship and it took me 15 yrs to get out of it. It may have been a long time and it wasnt easy because I loved him. I walked in your shoes and believe me it does get easier. Do everything you can to go through with the surgery, make yourself happier. The only thing my boyfriend says now is he is gonna but a ball and chain on me when I lose the weight. He is a very jealous and insacure person due to previous relationships but I often tell him you may be big (he weights 340) but I earned a heart of steal and NO MAN will ever get through it.
