Guest guest
Hello, my son just turned 4 and we have been doing biomedical stuff for a little over a year. We have treated for yeast, chelating for a year, CLO & Bethanecol, GFCFSF, and secretin for the first 5 months of this year. We just started enzymes about 3 weeks ago because of high triglycirdes in stool. We definitely saw some improvements, along with some hyperactivity and more stimming. I read DeFelice's book and know that is pretty typical. Shortly after starting Kirkmans DPP IV Broad Spectrum Enzymes because of lipase issues we found out that my son has +4 psuedonomas. As a result, we built his dose slowly to avoid major die off reactions. About a week ago our doc had us start pure mB-12, 1250mcg injectibles, daily. In the last few days, we have seen regression in speech, bloating, gas, loose stools (we haven't seen this in months) and the return of the dark circles. Today I didn't give him any enzymes to try and narrow down the culprit. I am racking my brain, I haven't reintroduced any foods yet, haven't changed supplements other than the B-12 shots and I am worried. I apologize for the long post, I am just a little worried and stressed and looking for advice. Thank you,

I did see a bit where he says dont' take B12 in any form during/before surgery because it methylates mercury. But wouldnt' you be advised not to use anything that is a methylator if you are worried about this? marti
Guest guest
Hal Huggins says that B-12 shots methylate mercury into its most dangerous form. He says in his most recent book " Solving the MS Mystery " that he has seen many people damaged from B-12 shots, and he recommends not more than 20micrograms of B-12 a day. It is safe in food- like the B-12 you get from red meat- just not more than 20micrograms extra. I did some research and B-12 is a methylator. I don't understand any more than what he said scared me into reducing my intake. Guest guest
I thought the DAN protocal was two shots per WEEK , not daily (?) Why is he having daily injections. Our DAN dr said my daughter should never have more than two injections per week. This is based on the latest from the MAY conference ( this is second hand from my dr. though) Anne
Guest guest
Well, I am certainly v. interested. But as calcium is needed for so many different processes in the body, there's no real way to get around that one! marti

For one of my kids, giving more than 200 mcg of oral B12 will cause major negative behaviors like loss of tolerance for frustration, whining, loss of sleep, and head banging. Remove the B12, then if you want to do it again, reduce the dose to well below 1250 mcg. Maybe consider oral B12 which is what I use. See if that helps. Guest guest
Hi Marti, I said I got the information from the book- " Solving the MS mystery " by Hal Huggins. The link was only to provide the source of the book. He had observed that B-12 in shots or pills had damaged several patients. My understanding is that people with mercury issues might be harmed further by the methylating properties of B-12. He said he sees more problems from B-12 and Calcium than any other supplements as far as making patients worse. The patients had had their mercury fillings removed and had become sensitive to B-12 during the recovery process. It is my understanding that there are 3 types of Mercury- all Harmful. 1. Hg' - Mercury Vapor 2. Hg++ - Ionic Mercury 3. MeHg - Methyl Mercury All three cause damage, but act in different ways. Ionic Mercury can be found in the intestines where it can be methylated into Methyl Mercury which can easily cross the Blood Brain Barrier and cause the most damage. B-12 Methylates Mercury (Imura'71) Intestinal Bacteria stimulate methylation ( '75) Ionic Mercury doesn't pass the Blood Brain Barrier unless methylated. If mercury is present in the intestines it can be methylated by B-12 or large doses of pro-biotics. I'm not a chemist or a Dr., I'm only repeating what I read as it might be something to consider if a person is having a bad reaction to B-12 or probiotics in large doses. Huggins is very firm about this, I'm only suggesting it might be something to consider. Best, ~ ----Original Message Follows---- From: MarthaRolfe@... Guest guest
We have been giving B12 injections every 3 days for almost 6 weeks now. We also give folinic acid which is supposed to help. Day 2 after every injection we hear better speech, sentence structure, even better use of pronouns. I've seen no regressions, just a little hyperactivity which has been manageable. > Hello, my son just turned 4 and we have been doing biomedical stuff > for a little over a year.
