I go to an acupuncturist. I really like her - Dr. Hsu. My GI dr.

recommended her. She is married to a GI and also has an MD from

Hopkins. She treats pain with acupuncture and chinese herbs. She does not

deal with any western methods, but she understands them with the training she

has. I do believe it helps. One time when I was going through awful

withdrawals she gave me a treatment that is done for opium addicts. She told

me I would sleep that night and I did, after five days of no sleep. I also

believe that I don't need to take as much pain meds with the treatments. I

have been going ot her for two years. The first time I went to her and I had

several treatments over a two week period, I went 11 months without an

attack.

Cecelia:

Please let us know if you get any relief with acupuncture.

One of my former GI doctors had headed a pancreo/biliary study

for the federal government years ago.

He told me that only one of his patients who tried acupuncture got any pain

relief. And, sadly, it was very short lived.

I get a fair or better than fair amount of relief with my acupuncture. I

have been doing it since Sept 1 st and have had 15 treatments. The energy

that it gives me is unbelievable. The fatique is greatly reduced. It does

NOT get rid of all of my pain nor does it make me pain free, but so far it

has kept me working part time and not taking many narcotics. That is at

least one of my goals. Just thought I would jump in and let you know.
