I'm back with another question. As you have read in my previous postings, I

have pancreas divisum. I did not find out until 1992 wihen I had my gall

bladder removed and continued to be sick and in trememndous pain. After

going to the IU Med center and having an ERCP with sphrincteronomy, I found

out I had pancreas divisum. I never had pancreatitis before I had my gall

bladder removed. Is there any connection with not having the gall bladder

and pancreatitis? I couldn't get a straight answer from any of my doctors.

How can a person live without the gall bladder? What takes opver the

functions of the gall bladder? The pancreas - causing it to be

overworked/stressed resulting in pancreatitis?

Also, a couple of my drs. have asked about hereditary pancreatitis, but no

one has had the test done yet. Should I have it done? What does if matter

if I discover I have hereditary? Is there any treatment any different?
