Dawn... Vicki's right. Call your doctor about your pain. Remember...HE

works for YOU. Annette

Dawn - Pain

Hi Dawn

I would like to ask why you're willing to wait two weeks to talk with

your doctor about the pain you're in?

Take care,

Vicki

Dawn... The fact that you felt a little better after resting for 3 hours

should tell us something. I, too, have to give in and just rest (in my

recliner or on the bed) at times until the pain gets a little better. Hard

to do, I know, with children. Gosh...those of you with children have it so

much harder than the rest of us. Dawn, you mentioned you have good

friends...do you think that if you leveled with them about the degree of

your pain they would perhaps help you from time to time with the children?

They may surprise you, pleasantly I mean. Annette

Re: Dawn - Pain

I have no idea, Vicki. I really don't. I'm just so freaking scared to rock

the boat and I'm so intimidated by my Rheummy. My GP is away in Ireland and

when I asked her before she left, who I should contact if I had a flare or

any concerns, she told me to contact the Dr. who's filling in for her at her

office and not my Rheummy. I presume it's because she knows him well and

knows the kind of personality he has. I dunno. Honestly, Vicki, I could

just sit and cry for days. I'm feeling soooooo drained and worn out from

all

of this and feel as if I have no help or support, other than my hubby and

all

of my friends here. Yesterday when I posted my " ouch, ouch, ouch " post, I

was at my wits end from the pain and had no help with my kids and didn't

know

what I was going to do. I almost called hubby to come home but knew we

couldn't afford that, as his is our only income. So, I laid on the couch

for

3 hours with Marlee sitting next to my head on her little chair and Emma

laying on my chest and napping herself. Thank God when I got up, the pain

was much better. I'm sorry for complaining and whining so much. I know you

all have your days too.

Love,

Dawn

Hi, Lynn. I know I'm a wuss...I don't deny it. LOL. I'm really going to

try to be braver when I go to see him in a couple weeks. In the meantime, if

my pain gets worse, I'll call my GP. Thanks for your advice....I really

appreciate it. :o)

Hi, Vicki. Yes, I read Lori's post and agreed 100% with it. I will

definately try to be more assertive the next time I see my Rheummy and

hopefully will have a decent appt. I would definately not accept this kind

of treatment for my children. That really opened my eyes. Thanks for your

advice.

No, I don't think you're ganging up on me. Quite the contrary. I hear

everything you're saying and will gather up the courage to confront this

man. Thanks....

Hi, Annette. Actually, I don't have too many friends, but am very close to my

family. Most of them work, but I have had offers from an Aunt of mine that I

may take advantage of. Still considering sending 1 or both kiddies to sister's

house. Thanks.

I want to make a bet with you...if you wait two weeks

to tell him you're in all this pain, he's going to get

a pissy attitude with you and think it can't be

hurting you that bad!

Whaddya say, Dawnie-Pooh? Do we have a bet??

OK, I called my Rheumy yesterday and his answering service came on saying they

were out on vacation until July 8th. Either this was an old message or she

intended to say Aug. 8th, however, I have an appt. to see him on the 7th, so I

don't think that's it. I'll try again on Monday. I then called my GP and she

was supposed to have a Dr. filling in for her while she is away to Ireland, but

apparently something happened, as her office is closed until July 30th. If I

can't get ahold of my Rheumy on Monday, I'll have to go into Outpatients at the

hospital, as I'm almost out of Tylenol #3 and this is all I take for pain.

We're supposed to be setting up for the yard sale right now as I'm typing this,

however, it's RAINING!!! UGH!!! It's supposed to clear and be beautiful, so

I'm not giving up hope. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. I probably

won't be able to move by the time this stupid sale is over with. LOL.

Hugs to all,

Dawn
