Guest guest
I'm in the middle of a couple. One is Cry the Beloved Country by Alan Paton. It's not pop fiction, but I would highly recommend it based upon my reading thus far. The other is a volume that contains Bondage of the Will by Luther and The Praise of Folly by Erasmus. Those two are proof positive that when it comes to the art of using sarcasm as a form of argument, things haven't changed in about 500 years. Also recommended. Books On the subject of my last rant, I'd like to ask the Texas EMS community a question. What was the last book you read that you weren't required to read? He tells the story of creating excellence through empowerment and leadership. Not all that earthshaking a managemenet philosophy, but the Navy related stuff was pretty interesting. It's Your Ship There are a bunch of medical books I'm working my way through, a topic at a time. Kinda like the way that some people used to look up dirty words in the dictionary when they were kids. Hear an intersting call on the radio? Go look it up. Previous book read, " OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry. Compared with that, medical books are real " page turners " .
