The three largest provinces in Canada are Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec.

No its not easy in the US but in Ontario you must have one of several community

colleges with EMS programs verify that your training is equivalent to their

program. I have been told that it can take up to a year for this to happen. If

the community college ok's your education you must then take several exams

related to Ontario specific EMS laws and policies and then get a radio license

to operate an ambulance radio. After all of this you then can then challenge

the EMS exam. British Columbia has no reciprocity at all, in order to be a BCAS

paramedic you must attend their EMS academy (after going through the hiring

process) regardless of your experience. Quebec - forget about it if you do not

speak French.

Having worked in 5 different states I know reciprocity can be a challenge in the

US but its much more difficult across the border

EMS systems are vastly different in each province - more so than in the US.

Reciprocity is nearly impossible from one province to another.

Please tell me this is not saying that reciprocity is easy in the US? Try

getting a P card in many states, An I card well which one do you need if the

state even sees I as a level of training etc.
