Guest guest
I did cut down considerably the last few years before I quit, but I'm not sure that matters as much as your self-identification with smoking. Try doing things differently at times you would typically have a cigarette--like if you usually have one first thing in the morning, go for a walk instead. If you're in a state where smoking is allowed in very many places (I'm in CA and you pretty much can only smoke in your house or car now!), try to avoid those areas or go someplace it isn't allowed. Also, be aware that the urge may hit you suddenly years later in times of great stress. Almost two years after I'd quit, my older son injured his head and in the ER all I could think about was having a cigarette and a pack of M & M's (lol). The feeling passed pretty quickly, but I was a little surprised by it after all that time. Sohni Thank you Sohni:o) I am just going to quit tomorrow. I will keep you all updated on how I do:o) Thank you for inspiring me with your 15yrs free from nicotine:o) - > > > > Hi all;o) > > > > So...it occured to me today as I lit up my cigarette that I started > > smoking because I thought it would make me thin.
