Guest guest
Thanks Best of luck with your appointment, looking forward to hearing how it goes. Personally it has been a very difficult journey for me to get to this position where I have had the resection. I have had lots of conflicting medical advice and have had some difficult decisions to make. The key thing for me in having the op was finding a specialist who really seemed to know his stuff (and I did a lot of reading, and gained HUGE benefit from the women at this site, so that I KNEW that he knew his stuff!). And also I was lucky that this Dr was very reassuring and understood all my anxieties about it. That was a huge breakthrough because up until then I felt I was seen by the medics as a dodgy reproductive system, and not a whole person with feelings! In hindsight, after having 4 m/cs and relying on - albeit good 3D ultrasound pictures - I would have had a lap/hyst or even just a diagnostic hyst earlier than I did, to confirm diagnosis. It wasn't until I had had my 4th m/c that the Drs really started taking my uterine anomoly seriously as a potential cause of the m/cs. Up until then I was told it was arcuate and not a problem (based only on 3D ultrasound). I am still all too aware that there may be many potential causes of recurrent m/c that are not really understood yet by the medical community and it could be by some cruel blow of fate that my m/c were due to these, and my septum resection may not prevent further m/cs...but I do now feel I have done what I can. My surgeon certainly seems extremely hopeful about future outcome, but after 4 m/cs I feel I must keep my expectations under control. I'd be lying if I was saying the op hadn't given me more hope though. Best of luck for the 17th, look forward to hearing how you get on. I think I am still doing well, still in some dicomfort after the op but not too bad.
