My son started at 17 mos. Each chid is different, but in our case, he was

also on 4:1 and we started him on

4 meals/day

850 cc fluid

Per day

12 g protein (3 per meal)

9 grams carbs (2.2 per meal)

80 grams fat (21 per meal)

Height was 81.3 cm, wt was 13.2 kg (he had recently gained 5lbs on depakote,

was a touch heavy)

I remember them saying something about keeping carbs under 3g per meal. I

still do to this day, just about. He's been on the diet 6 years.

For an inactive child, the calories seem a bit high...but maybe not. Your

numbers are not too far off. Your protein might be a bit low, it's just at

the 1g per kg of weight cut-off. Maybe raise protein a touch and lower

carbs a touch?

I think something is wrong with the calculation the

dietitian made

> The dietitian calculated the following for hem:

> Ratio: 4:1

> Protein: 11,5 gr a day (3,8 per meal)

> Fat: 100 gr a day (33,3 per meal)

> Carbohydrate: 13,5 gr a day (4,5 per meal)

> Total calories: 1000 a day

> Liquid: 1000 ml a day
