Be sure to buy virgin coconut oil, not cosmetic grade. I buy mine from http://www.qualityfirst.on.ca/. Ask for Vinia. Dolphi
Guest guest
MCT Oil is Medium Chain Triglyceride Oil, which Coconut Oil is classified as. MCT Oil is not specifically a high quality oil and I wouldn't risk it.. I would buy the Virgin Coconut Oil specifically because of its many values, instead of something called " MCT oil " . Guest guest
These are the fats you want.. they are medium chain fatty acids(MCFA). google them trust me.. they are the bomb! Better than OMEGA3's.. NEXT year it will be all the rage. but I have been reading the studies . IT is those fats ( MCFA) that are killing the yeast. you want more not less.. besides ... the fat is bad line was sold to you by big ag. traditional cultures eat more fat and are healthier.. look at the Eskimo. eats 10lbs of seal blumber and no cancer or heart disease look at the Caribbean cultures and tropics.. they eat coconut oil all day. no cancer and no cardiovascular disease.. us on our low fat high grain diet .. sick as all heck. We need to realize thin may be in.. fut fats are where it is at. we never had an obese America till this low fat craze. Top vascular dr's actually ask you to load up on MCFA They are also BTW the majority of fats in goat and sheep milk and that is why they are so much healthier and healing than cows milk. 4x the MCFA From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of khieken Sent: Saturday, July 31, 2010 9:37 PM Subject: [ ] Coconut oil for yeast For those of you who use this for yeast, how much per day do you use? Guest guest
Thanks Crystal. I'm always cautious with fats because my dad had multiple heart attacks, starting at an early age, and his side of the family had rampant heart disease. I thought it was the UNsaturated fats that were good. I will have to research this more. So, I would guess the same holds true for coconut milk? I don't use it often, due to the high saturated fat content. Thanks > > These are the fats you want.. they are medium chain fatty acids(MCFA). > google them trust me.. they are the bomb! Guest guest
Go to Tropical Tradition's website. I believe they have a lot of information demystifying coconut oil. The original studies showing coconut oil raised cholesterol were done, it appears, with hydrogenated coconut oil. Transfats. The newer studies, with extra virgin, unrefined coconut oil show no effect on total cholesterol and perhaps even lowering LDLs. Good stuff. UNrefined oil. Guest guest
just don't bother to take the capsules you find in the supplement aisles. They don't contain enough to benefit you. I buy Spectrum, Tropical Traditions and Nutiva products (extra virgin, organic, unrefined coconut oil). I use between 1-3 TABLEspoons per day. They will all have similar fat content profiles (just like, for example, all brands of pure butter will). It was hard to get over the added fat and calories at first, but I swear that, plus going gluten free, has allowed me to eat more and weigh less. Stomach bloat is gone when I stick to my diet. Guest guest
Oh Pam your right.. besides the yeast .. I lost weight too! MCFA have 7 calories per gram instead of 9 .. I think as well so you digest them better and faster.. the shorter carbon length makes them usable and instantly burnable.. body builders use it to get more to burn body fat and feed muscle. Guest guest
Thanks Pam. This site, along with its links, is really interesting. I will probably give the coconut oil a try. I was planning on using it for yeast, but thought the claims of antiviral and antimicrobial properties were pretty interesting too, and would be helpful here. Do your kids take it straight up? > > > > > > These are the fats you want.. they are medium chain fatty acids(MCFA). > > > google them trust me.. they are the bomb! Better than OMEGA3's.. Guest guest
NOW makes an Organic, Virgin Coconut Oil capsule which is very big. We have used it. If you take 3 per day, it would give you 1 TABLEspoon per day, plenty for a little kid. They were helpful here for yeast. We don't much like the taste of coconut.
