purpose of phosphatidyl choline in mercury detox?

My doctor recommended taking phosphatidyl choline on the DMSA 'off'

days, he did not have time to explain the purpose of it though. Is

this for liver support/detoxification? Or does this have to do with

mobilization of fat deposits (presumably to increase the amount

mercury that can be chelated)?

FYI: My doctor's recommended protocol differs from Andy's in that he

recommends DMSA for three days, followed by 11 days of increased

vitamins, lipoic acid and phos choline (and no DMSA).

Supplements/chelators were also recommended to be taken every 8

hours, which I know Andy disagrees with.

What phos choline actually does is:

1. increase bile flow and fat absorption,

2. repair cell membranes,

3. supply methyl groups,

4. supply choline.

The doctor seems to be mixing some protocols where phosphatidylcholine

is believed (incorrectly) to do some other things that are relevant to

detox, so he may or may not agree with the above.

Andy . . . . .. . . . . . . . . .
