This diet isn't about getting X number of carbs each day -- it's just about

eating healthy. Studies suggest the human body need between 130-300g of

carbs each day. If you plan your meals around fresh, healthy foods and put

together a balanced set of meals then you won't have to worry about counting

how many carbs you consume each day. There are some on this diet that are

low-carb, others that are high-carb, and still others that fall somewhere in

between. That's why you'll see so many clips about this not being a

low-carb diet and not counting carbs; because you really do not have to do

so. (Asking for an upper threshold is just another way of saying " counting

carbs " -- to know you're below that upper threshold you would have to COUNT

the carbs.)

If you stick to the foods on the lists and the guidelines for portions,

you'll be fine.

No, this is not a low carb diet. THis is a good carb diet. You are right in thinking we don't count carbs, not at all. In phase one, you eat from the list of foods to enjoy. Make sure you have the right list from the files of this group with Milk and yogurt on it. If it's on the list, eat it. If it isn't on the list, don't eat it. Simple as that really. In two weeks you move onto phase two and you add in a fruit and a helping of whole grain a day. You increase those helpings very slowly as long as you are still losing. But you do not count carbs. You eat foods that are low on the Glycemic Index, not that have low carbs. Carol
