Guest guest
Hi , Well, I would say stay with the RE for now - if you can get all of your US done with him up until 12 weeks, stick with him. Is he someone you can call and get into fast, if you wanted to (it was always reassuring for me to know that I could see my OB at the drop of a hat during those paranoid moments!)Also, stay away from the docs who say no to cerclage, I wouldn't even go there. The last thing you need right now is stress. I say: RE to 12 weeks, then peri and OB. Just tell them your RE didn't release you from his care until 12 weeks. Hoping time flies to your US! Guest guest
Nope, I think you are perfectly w/in your rights to be fretttin about this now. Around here, you would have to call today to even think about seeing your OB by 12 weeks! Here's the plan that my RE laid out for me: See him for an U/s at 6wk (early enough to get a good idea of implantation site, late enough to reasonably expect a heartbeat). Continue to see him every 4 weeks through 1st trimester. See OB for initial appt at the 'normal' time (around 9-10) weeks and continue on a regular schedule throughout the pregnancy. See peri for the first time at around 13-14 weeks (ponder prophylactic cerclage at this time) and see every 4 weeks until 32 weeks. Alternate OB and Peri visits so that you see someone every two weeks. IMHO- I would have the RE do the cerclage...just b/c I would assume that he has done a few more than the regular OB. ? But what do I know? Don't take this the wrong way, but - I'm so excited that your sick!!! It just makes you seem that much more pregnant. I know, you can't just be a " little " pregnant, but you know what I mean! :-) So, no lavender preggie pops? Hugs,

Guest guest
Hey Congrats! Thought I would chime in here on the dr thing - and its never to early to design a plan! Its what set us apart from the idiots who simply listen to their dr's moronic advice and nod! Anyhow, what you really need is the peri to take charge of your case it sounds like. So I would say you should have a chat with the peri - how do they typically handle the relationship with the ob, etc. Also, what does your insurance have to say about all this - do you have to get your re to refer you to the peri first or does the ob actually have to do it? I would go to the peri now not the ob - unless its a paperwork issue - you might " have " to see her first in order to get refered. Does your insurance have that annoying you have to " register " your pg? I hated that when I mc'd because I got all this paperwork from them about having a healthy baby and then had to call them to say hey please stop sending me all this crap. Just a few thoughts! But none of it will matter because this will be a smooth, uneventful pg with all drs getting along and working together to ensure excellent care! Diane uu, ivf #2 in January - appt with the re on halloween to discuss " plan " and why first failed. Do you think dressing up like an implanted fertilzed egg will be overkill? > Howdy folks! > I'm sitting here trying to figure out the chronology of things (yes, > getting ahead of myself - but humor me, its helping me kill time > until the US - grin). Guest guest
Hi I saw my OB at 4 weeks, 5 weeks and seven weeks and had u/s at both. I was mean to wait to see the perinatologist until a little later in the first trimester, but due to a brief spotting episode saw him at 8 weeks and will go back at 12 weeks, then have my cervix checked by him every other week. At that point, I don't know if I will still go to my regular OB, but I assume so. My OB and Peri seem to work very well together. They are both in the satellite affiliates of the same hospital and don't seem to have turf wars at all. edd 5/13/
