Guest guest
Just wondering what the parameters are for normal hearing is in children. I know it is 0-20 in adults. The reason for this is I will be asking my pediatrician to change their guidelines. Right now they consider 30 and above normal. After my daughter tested from 25-30dbl in all frequencies they told me it was fine and sent us on our way. From having another daughter with a hearing loss I questioned it, had her tested by our audiologist and unfortunately she is showing moderately severe increasing to a mild loss bilaterally. If I had not insisted that she have further testing we would not have found out. I am suggesting to them that any child testing at 25dbl or under have followup studies, but I was not sure if it should be 20 or 25dbl. Any suggestions? I just feel bad for any kids that are testing at 30 across the board that they are sending out saying its normal. Thanks for the help.
