A test no. Don't know how they would do one. But once my

Endo gave me Metoclopram 5mg 4x and it cleared my problem,

it more or less confirm his diagnoses.

Hi, I hope you don't mind my chiming in. I was under the impression

that diabetic neuropathy could affect any organ in the body including

bladder and all digestive organs. My stomach doesn't empty like it

should either, and I've had IBS for many years (long before the

diabetes), but it has gotten worse since the diabetes. Didn't know

there was a medication for the stomach problem. I will ask my Dr

about Metoclopram.

Hi Drew and Carol,

Just a quick note, I also have IBS. They say mine was because I have

fibromyalgia also, but I have noticed a big change since I have been diabetic(

about a year and a half.) It has gotten worse. My gastro doctor put me on

Lexapro (I know it is a mild nerve pill) for the IBS, Her explanation was that

since Lexapro is a nerve pill, it also works for IBS as it relaxes the nerve

endings in the stomach. I can tell you that if I get out of my Lexapro or miss

a couple of doses, I am hurting and running for the bathroom. I go back on my

medicine and no problems. It has made a believer out of me.

And while taking it I can eat almost anything I want (spicy, hot, etc.) with no

problems.

Hope this helps.

Hugs,

Jackie

Thanks for the advice about the metoclopram and lexapro.

I'll do the research and then make an appointment to see my GP. If I show her

the info then she usually gives me what I ask for.

Welcome new people!!
