Guest guest
Hi ! I can do the bulk and cook ahead plan in a limited version as we have just the tiny freezer built into the fridge for space and limited pantry. When I had my big ole upright and lived in a bigger space I did a lot of bulk buying and cooking ahead. My sweetie is rolling with this new eating thing as well so we don't have separate meals etc. so that's great for me and much healthier for both of us :-) Thanks so much for your reply! Peg -- Re: Newbie! Something I've tried is buying in bulk at Sam's Club (or Costco) and doing the Once A Month Cooking. By buying in bulk we save on per serving costs, by cooking and freezing we lose less food to the ravages of time. Also, since portion control is essential for diabetics, we spend less overall because the family isn't overeating anymore. The lifestyle of a diabetic shouldn't have to cost more money (unless you are on medication) and it's healthier for the whole family, especially growing children, to be on a low-sugar diet. I don't cook two separate ways for meals. No one needs those unhealthy foods, not even non-diabetics. There's more to that than just blood sugar control. -- Wife to , Mom to , Due w/ 10/30/05.
