Guest guest
> I was diagnosed last Friday with bicornuate uterus. I have had 3 miscarriages and 1 ectopic. I also have two blood clotting disorders that I take baby aspirin for. I am trying to learn all I can about this condition. My doctor suggested surgery, but he has to find a way to get it past insurance without using the word " infertility " . I have read some bad things about the surgery, also. I can use all the advice I can get. Thanks, -TN Hi , I'm so sorry about your losses. The first thing I always want to know when someone says that she has been diagnosed with a icornuate uterus is how the diagnosis was made, and whether or not " bicornuate " means a true bicornuate uterus or is used as a blanket term for any one of several maformations. The distinction is very important; if you have a true bicornuate uterus, you probably will not require surgery. Personally, I was first diagnosed as bicornuate, but my uterus turned out to be septate. My insurance fortunately covered corrective surgery for birth defects--does your insurance have that wording? So sorry about the clotting factors. My money is on that as your cause for miscarriage. There are several members here with some clotting factor problems--you can read about them in the message search archives. I hope that you find this group useful. Much good luck to you.
