Guest guest
The neurologist just called and the EEG did not take. Apparently my son pulled the leads from the box that was recording. They want to do it again but this time with sedation. I think she said Hydrochloride. Does that sound right? This was so hard to do the first time I cant imagine a second. He had to carry around a little back pack for 24 hours that was very heavy and when he slept he yanked on the wires the entire time. Any suggestion? Skip it unless the neurologist can tell you what can be done using the results that can't possibly be figured out any other way, e. g. by just trying medications and seeing if they help. Sedation for a 24 hour EEG sounds pretty silly to me. > Sher
Guest guest
I just posted this on another list too. but since the subject came up here too Ill repost it years ago I had Jon take a sleep deprived EEG (boy was this an experience holding a tired autistic child with stickies and wires on their head)which came out abnormal and they said this was a good possiblity of a brain tumor. I jumped through many hoops to get him in for an MRI within a few days and they used a sedative on him which had an opposite reaction than sleep. yes, the chloride thing. We had to reschedule an appointment and come back only to have 4 adults hold a 4 year old down for an IV to put him asleep. The MRI came back normal. In his case, many tests later I found he was metal toxic. I know I wouldn't go through that ever again unless it was life or death with my son. I would be interested in what they can actually find and what treatment options it would open up. Please let me know what they have to offer in new treatments after the MRI readings. It may help others if they've already had it done as I have. Jon is 9 years old now and in remission using immune support and a detox/chelation program.
