Guest guest
I am somewhat confused about the ala and DMSA. Can a person be chelated using only ALA? Can someone please explain to me about mercury being taken into the brain because of chelation. I am wanting to do chelation for my son, but am still nervous about it. When I read something about chelation causing the mercury to go to the brain, I don't know what think.Get more from the Web. Yes. >Can someone please explain to me about mercury being taken into the brain because of chelation. This is a risk of using a pharmacokinetically inappropriate chelation regime, or in rare cases which are obvious beforehand where there is some recent exposure and body levels are high. Recent is a few months, no more. >I am wanting to do chelation for my son, but am still nervous about it. Guest guest
---I began chelating my son in March 2001, starting with DMSA, and adding ALA after a couple of months. When his DAN doc determined that he was not " dumping mercury " according to urine tests, he refused to write another prescription for DMSA. I continued with ALA only. I have never seen anything but positive improvements in my son. I have never seen any adverse side affects whatsoever. We have been off chelation for about 9 months, and I am " attempting " to resume with my son, his twin sister and older sister(12,12,14) I say " attempting " because I have become considerably worse myself because I have 15 Amalgam fillings and in 2001 a dentist put amalgam in my wisdom teeth so he could pull them easier. Since then my concentration, focus, memory, etc. have plummetted... :~( It got to the point where, even though I set an alarm clock every 3 hrs for the ALA dosing, I would turn off the alarm, but on the way to the kitchen to get the ALA....I get sidetracked, and completely forget and may remember 4 hours later!!! What a Mess!!! I plan on trying again this week, since my son will be out of school for 10 days, and then on to camp for the handicapped. I do have my very first appt. with a mercury-free dentist to discuss removal and detox tomorrow!....FINALLY!!! Guest guest
Where do you get ALA? Where is a protocol for giving it? THanks! Guest guest
You can buy it at most if not all health food stores, some regular stores, or on-line. The protocol is in the arhives, listed under something like " Andy's Protocol " . Please note that yo should not take ALA if you have mercury amalgam dental fillings. S <tt> Where do you get ALA? I have never noticed this, altho I don't know that it did not happen and I just did not notice. But I never had any problems using just ALA, except occasional yeast which I treated with GSE. Good luck. Dana

Guest guest
I am afraid of the DMSA. Just figured my son's risks would be lower. If his metals tests come back negative, I plan on using ALA anyway. If his tests come back positive, I may consider both. [ ] Re: ALA-Anyone? I don't have access to medical testing and I was not comfortable with the potential side effects of DMSA if I could not test for them. My kids are doing amazingly well with ALA alone.
