California may be different, but around here labs only take referrals from

doctors, not walk-in patients. I can't say that you have diabetes, but it

sounds as though you might.

Get yourself to a doctor or clinic ASAP. And, if your job does not provide

insurance, start looking for another job.

new girl

Hello to all,

My name is .

I am not diagnosed with diabetes. I'm 29 pretty active

live a healthy lifestyle, been a health nut pretty

much all of my life.

I was vegan for 1 1/2 years just about and began

eating sugar like I was going crazy. Well the sugar

craze started when I was about 18...

anyway to make a long story short,

my urine has been smelling like maple syrup, whenever

I eat anything sweet, even things like beets, or green

peas, I have maple syrup smelling flatulence.

I wake up with my right arm completely numb and

tingling.

My eyes have been weird lately, dry to the max.

I have never put eye-drops in my eyes ever in my life

but I went to the health food store and purchased the

most natural eye-drops I could find.

I have the worst dry skin but have been using extra

virgin organic coconut oil and so I don't notice the

dry skin as much anymore.

I think I'm too thirsty but that comes and goes,

sometimes I have no desire for water and sometimes I

feel like I'm going to die if I don't have a drink.

My eyes twitch all the time which now I understand to

be a magnesium deficiency so I started taking that.

I have been part of the yahoo gallstones group for a

while.

So all in all no one in my family (not one, has ever

been diagnosed with diabetes but I'm also the first

vegetarian/vegan in my family so my diet is completely

different from theirs.

I guess what I'd like to know is what tests can I take

to determine whether or not I have this disease.

I plan on going to a lab myself.

Does it sound like I have diabetes? I don't have

insurance, I live in Los Angeles, any suggestions for

a doctor who gives better deals to cash patients, any

suggestions on insurance in California?

thanks a lot!
