Guest guest
Dr. Loflin and all, Thanks for the comments. It's been a while since I was involved in teaching ACLS, and all my experience before was as an instructor at a larger institution where all I did was hit my marks and teach. I didn't realize medical directors were that involved in the course, and that is a really good thing. It may be hard to do this and be able to afford it, however. We're looking at expanding back into teaching ACLS, and trying to get our ducks in a row. There is a " prehospital ACLS " book that is approved for our course, which uses all pre-hospital examples and is written from that perspective, vs in-hospital ACLS. It seems there might be a place for such a course. But, we're an independent training center, with no institutional funding, so any course we teach has to pay for itself (I've gotten SO used to eating, driving a car, having a house, etc.). So we're looking into this, but can only do it if the numbers work out. Again, thanks all for the comments. =Steve = AlertCPR Emergency Training Steve , LP AlertCPR Emergency Training 2300 Highland Village Rd, Suite 340 Highland Village, TX 75077 >--- Original Message --- > >To: " " < > >Date: 4/27/05 12:12:22 PM > >Actually, as ACLS medical director, I am present for the entire course, teach some of >the material, monitor other instructors, answer questions, straighten out snafus, and >step in as needed.
