So 60 pound child would be 7.5 - 30mg starting dose, you would most likely find it easier to divide the capsule contents to 20 or 25mg. So 4 or 5 doses per capsule. She may be happy to take in juice but its pretty pongey - suplhur type smell. Some people use a little apple puree or something similar, either way she will need a chaser to wash it away. For night dosing my son I use a small amount of foodstuff and put his juice to lips after and say wash it away and he does. I use sports type bottle to avoid wet bed LOL Good luck - check out the files on the timing and size of dose, shout if you need further clarification. On the issue of copper, I believe a repeat hair test would be reliable way to check - somebody else will chime in (I hope) so you would need a good gap in between the test and loading with the zinc (you can use Molybedenum for this too), I'm guessing at 4-6 months. Was the copper in the red zone on the hair test? HTH MAndi in UK
Guest guest
Hi,we will be starting dmsa next month, she had elevated mercury level and copper hair analysis done by ddi..so i plan to start the dmsa 3days on 11 off and then add the ala we've been giving zinc to try and bring down the copper. I just spoke to her pediatrician and he cannot help us with the chelation so we are basically on our own, and money is tight..I dont want to neglect her in anyway..she is already close to 8yrs old. I know we cannot afford to keep having her tested so is there a test that is reasonable and reliable that will tell us if the mercury is coming out and what her copper level is at.? Also with the dmsa we plan to give every 8 hrs, can open the capsule or tab Im not sure what it is and dissolve it in water and then at night when it is time to give to her just try and get her to drink it? I dont know why I am so nervous about this I just hope she will be ok. Also I was going to add primrose oil to her diet I see this has ala in? Am I looking at this right? would this be ok and if so how much do I give her? Im going to order the dmsa from vrp unless anyone else know of a better place to get it..Machaela weighs 60 pds, please verify the dosage..Thanks so much. Guest guest
Hi Sorry I wasn't clear, dosing every 4 hours when we were using DMSA alone and 3 hourly dosing of both DMSA and ALA when we are using that combo We go 3.5 hours for one nighttime dose with the combo - Andy says you can 4 hourly at night, 3.5 hours just works in better with timing for us HTH MAndi in UK > I dont > understand your dmsa and ala dosing? you give it hourly?? > ** > I do 4 > > hourly DMSA only and 3 hourly on DMSA/ALA - at night too. > ** > She should be getting 6 doses a day right? >

You can find dose info here: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Andy_dose_sched.html For 35 pounds the recommended amount would be from 4.5 to 17.5 mg per dose. good wishes, Moria
