Elise Never got/get the toots from Splenda. I've never had any negative side effects from Splenda use in all the years I've used it. Does not raise my blood sugar in the slightest, either. -- Wife to , Mom to , Due w/ 10/30/05. Guest guest
>How many of you heavy Splenda users get the terrible gas (explosive) from >it? Elise None. Before diagnosis I had about as bad a gas problem as one could imagine. Some foods would put me in continuous discharge mode for hours on end. Once I got my BG level back down to non-diabetic range, that went away completely. I am now a toot-free bean eater - except that I can't eat beans now because of the carbs. (*Sob*) I speculate that the high sugar concentration in my intestines harbored flora that feasted on it and produced the gas. I would usually feel really bad, much worse than normal so maybe the stuff was making some alcohol in the process. Support of this theory is the fact that I could kill the gas for a few days with a good strong dose of oral antibiotic. That gas might be a sign that your BG is still too high. --- De Armond See my website for my current email address http://www.johngsbbq.com Cleveland, Occupied TN

Guest guest
All I have to do is eat something with Splenda and I get it. Omit the Splenda and it's gone. Does the same thing to my hubby and he doesn't have diabetes. Go figure! Elise
