Guest guest
Hi , FYI - another mother I know whose child has a predominantly myo-based seziure syndrome, saw the myoclonics only increase with topomax, not decrease, do you think this could have happened with your Abbie? Re the depakote/diet choice - well I am not very much in favor of meds, have seen nasty things happen with on them - but having said that - the diet is a big committment, and to be honest - if one med on it's own had worked with (WITHOUT unacceptable side effects) , I would probably have chosen that instead. But - that is a personal opinion only, and others may differ. If you did take the depakote trial option first - I would def wean the topomax first - as the last thing you need is not knowing what med is helping or hindering. If no good results (or even if it controls her, but you see unacceptable side effects) after the depakote is at a theraputic level, I would then quickly wean that, and go for the diet. It has been our saviour, despite rocky patches along the way. My 2 cents...
