While chatting in a group of 4 Moms at the DAN! Conference in Philadelphia, it

came up that all of our autistic children had jaundice at birth. It would be

interesting to see some data on that.

Thanks Dana.

My son was jaundiced, but he was one point lower than the point where

they would put him under the lights. He received HepB vax just before

I took him home. He has a dx of classic Kanners autism [genetic from

birth, never regressed].

I use ALA for chelation, he is currently on round 74. He no longer

qualifies as autistic. He is age 7-1/2 now.

I have never had him tested for anything, so I can't answer your

question. But I do want to let you know that chelation has been very

beneficial for my son, and [so far anyway] has not caused any

problems.

Good luck.

Dana

Got it. Thanks for answering my question though and I appreciate your help. On

a funnier note, I have a Doctorate and can't be called doctor (J.D.) and my

mother can't understand why. :-) All that money for grad. school for a

doctorate degree and yet she can't say the words. :-) Thanks again.

I am not an MD.

I am not any kind of licensed health care provider at all.

Nothing I say should be taken as medical advice in the legal sense of

the term - if you want that, you should consult with a properly

licensed health care provider.

I AM a PhD chemist. While that does normally carry the title of

" doctor, " I discourage people from using it on list as that can cause

confusion.

In a legal sense, MD's are defined as understanding all the chemistry

and biochemistry involved in clinical lab tests, and PhD chemists are

defined as having absolutely no clue what lab tests mean or what

biochemistry might occur. Thus, again, nothing I say should be

interpreted as medical advice. It is simply a talk among friends

about health issues of mutual interest.

My daughter wasn't Jaundiced but she was a 10 Lb'er

her suger levels were off so they had her on IV and in the NICU for 3 days.

I never had my blood tested for pregnancy induced diabetes but I can bet that I

had it now thinking about it.

there was Mec in the fluid, she wasn't breathing when born, they had to get her

started and get all the Mec out of her lungs.

I noticed something was up with her when she was a few months old.

she didn't walk till she was 16 months old, didn't even sit up on her own till

she was about 14 months or so.

she was a constant screamer, it just seems there was never a time when she

wasn't screaming :-(

Just a little history on this front..
