Gall Bladder Surgery

How great it was to hear that is feeling better after the docs

removed her gall bladder.

My 14 yo daughter is scheduled to have hers taken out on Dec 14th and

I was starting to question if it would help. (She was actually

scheduled for last Monday but when we got to pre-op she was running a

101.something fever so they had to postpone it. I can't believe I

drove the two hours to the hospital and did not realize she had the

temp, I guess she is so used to feeling bad that it did not phase

her).

She is having a few things done while they are in there. First she

needs a feeding tube and they cannot insert it endoscopically as she

has had previous surgeries. So while they are in there they are going

to look at her gall bladder and if it looks bad, take it out. Next

they will do a celiac plexus block....so hopefully after she heals

from the surgery she will feel better. My plan is to also ask the doc

to take a look at the pancreas and make changes there if it can help

her.

Would love to hear from anyone that has had experience with a g-tube

with pancreatitis. Also with info about the celiac block...I figure

since they are attacking the nerves from the inside, it might have a

better chance.
