Guest guest
, Is Alice on Dilantin? A common side effect of Dilantin is gum swelling. My wife tells me that it takes a few months to develop. Maybe if she is on it, that maybe the cause. On the vitamin point, we give Logan (21 months old) Poly-Vi-Sol liquid vitamin and Cal/Mag/Zinc II liquid. We have not seen any problems so far. I really doubt that its the diet though. She may have a sensitivity to a particular food. If so, you'd probably see it develop if you're feeding that food more often than you had been in the past. Just my thoughts on the issue. Guest guest
, Also, the cause may be a vitamin C deficiency. Is it like a canker sore? Pete
Guest guest
Is she on any medications? Could it be a food alergy? Guest guest
Hi -- We have been using acidophilus with to give her some " good " bacteria in her diet. She was on way too many antibiotics a year and a half ago, so we started it then. Shortly after she started acidophilus I hear about using it for canker sores and so I started paying attention to the inside of 's mouth. She hasn't had a single one since, and so I started taking it myself about 6 mos ago, as I am VERY susceptible. Same story for me...no more canker sores! I would recommend trying it with Alice if her doc is agreeable. We use the Vitamin Store lactose free capsules, which we stir into morning vitamin cocktail that she gets by g-tube. I know there are liquid acidophilus supplements, but don't know about carb content. Hope Alice gets some relief!
