Guest guest
Donna, Thanks, honey. It helps knowing that YOU know how it can be for familys in these situations. I don't regret for a moment taking my kids in, you know? Even though a lot of pain came with it, at least these kids made it safe and sound to their majority, and that in itself has to be counted a major accomplishment, in my book. My daughter, who was fourteen when I got her, is also emotional- ly damaged beyond repair, but as they say, where there's life, there's hope. I just pray daily for both of them, especially hard, that they hurt no one in their lives, especially themselves. I believe they have suffered enough. I have also come to believe that most of these kids birth parents are not recreational drug users, but seriously disturbed individuals who are self-medicating in an attempt to feel some sense of well-being. 'nuff said, I think. LOL I tend to get on my soapbox on the subject. Thanks for your support. Hugs, hugs, hugs, MM

Guest guest
But, like I say, the earlier the better for testing and treatment. The so-called experts we consulted said my was too young to be tested, but that thinking is passe' now. Most neurologists and psychologists have changed their tune on that and want to see these kids earlier in life. Good luck, and prayers still going up for you and the kids. Love, Thank you Mike. He is sitting in my lap screaming and kicking me as we speak so I will call his caseworker Monday for sure! a C
