Guest guest
Good Morning , Hope everyone is doing well this morning. Not too many of you know me ,I rarely post.To Kathleen Thank You for the replys you steared me in the right direction. I never got a chance to meet Dr.Milhorat,But I did get to meet Dr.Bologanese,What a great sence of humor he has.The testing I had done while there went very smooth, everyone was so helpful guiding me on where I had to be next.I never had to wait long .Dr.Bologanese spent about 2 hrs going over the results. Now for my results, which everything wrong is all congenital.I have hydrocephalus which Kathleen you mentioned as a possibility. Thanks again.I have Pseudotumor cerebri,my dural graph from 2 yrs ago is buldging.I have a double whammy in the top bone in my neck.It is so close to my brain stem when I look up I cut everthing off,it is so curved to the front when I look down it cuts off my air. All my ventricles are enlarged for my age,I have an aneurysm outside the skull{very rare},good news if it ever ruptures it wont kill me but it will have to be clamped,c-5,c-6 are ruptured into my spinalcord. My pressure for the lunbar puncture was 22,and this was one of my better days,I guess normal is about 13. Now for his plans.I will have surgery on 7-10-02 for the placement of a VP shunt, then on 7-16-02 I will have surgery with the plate in my head. 3 mos after I will have surgery on the discs, but he said I could do that at home if I wanted too.In no way was I pushed to do anything. He asked if I would like to think about all this,My reply was,I came here for help what good are the answers if I do not accept the help. The bone in my neck Is a wait and see,I have trouble swallowing but I can swallow liquid. At some point It may have to be taken care of. Also he said my other surgery was done very well, and spoke very highly of my neurosergeon here.He said he did a great job with the knowledge he had to work with,Not everyone has all of these things to go with ACM/SM.My Syrinx is still stable,so in fact my last neurosurgoen did me good, and in no way any harm.Anyone who is considering going to New-York for answers,It is the best dicission I have made sence this thing started with me. I know I am now not making a mountain out of a mole hill. For the last 2yrs I have tried to force myself into getting well. Well I need to rest still some headache left from the lumbar puncture,I would like to talk to anyone who has exp with VP Shunts and his SRG Thank You all so much LOL Dot
