[Note: for those of you who are tempted, you don't need to post that this is " not recommended " , because I already know it isn't recommended LOL] I am extending round 84. Today is day 12. For most of the days I have given my usual 3 doses of ALA per day. There have been 3 days so far that I have given only 2 doses [morning and evening]. #2 did develop a mild yeast issue on day 9. I gave 2 drops GSE [one in morning and one in afternoon] and it went away. I also reduced the amount of ALA. For a few days I had to add in a few trace minerals and NAC, this caused improvement for a few days but regression after that [which is his usual reaction to trace minerals and NAC] so I have removed them again. #3 has shown no adverse affects from doing this. In fact, he is showing no change at all, like his body is not responding to the ALA at all [he did not have a yeast problem like #2 did, at least not so far]. Maybe he is done detoxing?! His language is really jumping tho! #2 is doing very well also. My 3 younger kids are all enrolled in the 3-4yo AWANA program. Except that 2 of my kids are much larger than the other kids there, they fit right in and don't need any more direction than the other kids in the program. Today is day 12. Dana, very sorry, but you are mistaken! Andy recommends rounds of up to 14 days! Moria

I am continuing [barring major problems] until the weekend before Christmas, so this would be about 7 weeks. I will take 1-2 weeks off for Christmas and then start again. So far as I understand it, Andy would certainly NOT recommend this! Dana

Of course he wouldn't, but I am used to seeing your " 3 times a day " and so I didn't see anything " different " in your post except for the number of days. And you didn't say you are planning on 7 weeks There was nothing in your post that caused me to " be tempted " to say it was not recommended, as you said you might get comments. You obviously know that the # of doses per day is not recommended by Andy. This didn't seem like it would lead to your comment........ And you didn't say you > are planning on 7 weeks Basically I am giving ALA every day, which Andy did not recommend [in addition to not recommending the 2-3x per day]. There was nothing in your post > that caused me to " be tempted " to say it was not recommended, > as you said you might get comments. Almost every time I post my protocol, at least one person writes that I need to check Andy's info in the files LOL. I thought I would let them know they don't need to write that! My #2 and #3 [who are doing this protocol] are doing AMAZINGLY WELL!! Language is really taking off, lots of pretend play [i need large size dress-up clothes now], I have toy boats and soldiers in the bathtub again, and they are both saying " mommy watch me " and " look at this " and things like that. I almost can't get anything done because at least one kid wants me to watch him/her do something. Plus I have MAJOR sibling rivalry here [which I suppose is " normal " but is really getting on my nerves]. One interesting improvement, is that in the AWANA class, there are two kids with #2 name, so I put his last initial on his things. He started to say his name with the last initial also included, like it was the last letter of his name. This means he is associating the sounds with the letters, and I have not worked with him on that yet. He knows the letters but not the sounds they make, at least I did not know it. So we are teaching that now, maybe he can learn to read soon! #2 does have yeast again, he did not have it for almost a year, until day 9 and then again day 13 of this recent " round " . But 1-2 drops GSE removes the problem for a few days, then yeast again, then GSE again. But so far manageable. Dana
