Greetings to you!!

I would keep lots of " low carb " raw veggies on hand to eat between meals.

There are lots of low calorie dressings with minimal carbs that are good to

dip these in (just measure the ammount first so you arent eating too much

dressing). Some of my favorites are celery, jimica, cabbage (yes cabbage), I

like raw carrots (some people cant eat them) cucumbers... Any raw veggies

work, the crunchier the better. It always helps me to crunch on things....

Peppers and other stuff work well too... I am just not a big pepper fan...

radishes are good too! raw zuchinni things like that... I have found that I

prefer to eat my veggies without dips and sauces on them any more.... I love

raw veggies... Keep them cut up so you can just grab and go, so they are

easy to get to and not a chore to deal with when you are starving =) You

will be less likely to grab convience foods and junk if you have these on

hand! yummy...

the American Diabetes Association - like Dr Bernstein's Diabetes

Solution, 2003 revised and updated edition.

I made this mistake - the low food value mistake, that is, and couldn't lose

weight!

Dietician told me my meals ahve to be balanced and have substance or I'll

instantly be hungry again and end up eating more.

She also put me on a 1500 calorie diet but gave me a 1200 calorie diet as an

alternative - said I'd lose weight more slowly on the 1500 calorie diet but

I'd find it easier to stick with.

People vary in how they respond to varying levels of carbohydrates, protein

and fat in their diet - you may have to experiment.

I'm doing failry well on a moderate carbohydrate diet - 6 to 7 exchanges a

day. Each with some protein and fat. What's important is the mix.

And salad alone as a meal doesn't work. Waht you want to do is have some

starch, some meat or cheese, maybe some milk - and then one or two servings

of fruit and veggies. One with calories.
