Guest guest
Hi :-) I just thought of a couple more things....Minocin (the name-brand stuff) is now made by Wyeth. They bought Lederle a while ago. Just recently, Wyeth announced that they are no longer making the generic form of Minocin....as you know, it's called minocycline. The Wyeth form of minocycline was one of the few known to be as effective as the real Minocin. I have heard that generic minocycline made by either Schein and another company called ESI are also supposed to be effective. I think our Costco pharmacy here in WA state carries the Schein brand...last I heard, anyway. Also, another thing people can do to increase the number of pills filled per prescription is to ask the doctor to prescribe it at two pills per day, even though you will probably start out taking it only three days per week. Just a way to stretch your dollars. You might also ask him to prescribe the 50mg pills....but if you have the 100's, go with them, only slowly of course. I wish I had been able to contact you earlier....we've been off-line while son and hubby " upgrade " our system. It only involved drilling a hole into the wall and drilling through the electrical wires :-( Good thing hubby is an electrical engineer LOL I learned a few new words today :-) Thinking good thoughts for you...so many changes you have! ~Connie
