Re: smelly urine?

Can you describe the smell? At times when I'm detoxing there's what I describe

as a " gunpowder " smell. I figure it's metals coming out.

Well, I don't know what gun powder smells like. I do know that it

doesn't smell like infection from a UTI ( I know what that smell's

like) but it does stink!!!

Gunpowder smells metallic, like the big fireworks displays. What supplements

does your child take? Is he on digestive enzymes, probiotics? What's his diet

like? What chelation agent do you use? Sulfur smells like rotten eggs...

He is on ALA and DMSA for chelation. He also gets a supplement from

Kirkman which includes vitamin C (60mg), reduced glutathione(100mg),

glycine(150mg) and taurine(150mg). We give him TMG and Animal Parade

children's multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. Are with

supplementing him enough? what is lacking? Thank you for your

help!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot he is on gfcf diet, taking nystatin daily. His diet

mainly consist of meat and vegatables, gfcf muffins or cookies for

treats and orange juice. He is not on any digestive enzymes. We have

enzymes for any slip ups on the diet but don't use it b/c we are very

strict on the diet. I will have to pay closer attention to the smell

of his urine next time (he's five so he rarely lets me around while

going potty) . I don't think it smelled like rotten eggs but maybe

gunpowder. thanks

I have strange smelling urine when I have a yeast issue.

Is he using ALA? My 4 year old autistic son has now had 7 rounds of

ALA and each time he has stange smelling urine. I have been calling

it his metallic pee. This last weekend I decided to have all 4 of my

kids do a round to see what would happen. I have 1 autistic child, 1

celiac child and 2 older NT children (though I think one is

borderline ADD). My older 2 children asked at different times why

their pee smelled strange. I also noticed my 2 year old had the same

smelling diaper as his autistic brother. I think it is safe to say

it is caused by the ALA.

DMSA 150mg/ALA 25mg every 8 hrs. 3days on 11 days off. He has

tolerated it extremely well. No real visable negative effects yet

except that I have noticed he is tired the first day off. I actually

was expecting his behavior to be much worse. I'm actually paranoid

that it may not be working!? We will test his urine next round. How

much zinc would you reccomend? He weighs about 36lbs.
