THEY HAVE DETERMINED THAT WHAT THEY THOUGHT LOOKED LIKE CANCER WAS JUST A POCKET READY TO RUPTURE .. ...... THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS ... ALTHOUGH WE STILL NEED MORE PRAYERS ... AS OF WENDS. HE WAS TAKEN TO THE ER AND ADMITTED .... I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT HE IS IN THE HOSPITAL MY SIL CALLED ME A FEW MINUTES AGO AND TOLD ME THAT NOW THEY ARE FEEDING HIM THROUGH THE IV HE WILL BE LOSING HALF OF HIS COLON THE INFECTION HASNT GOTTEN ANY BETTER AND HE KEEPS BLOWING HIS VIENS .... HE IS WORRIED HE WONT HAVE A COMPLETE LIFE IF HE HAS TO HAVE A BAG FOR HIS WASTE ...... I KNOW HE IS GETTING MORE INTO HIS DEPRESSION AND I KNOW I HAVE NO WAY OF MAKING HIS PAIN OR WORRIES GO AWAY ..... I JUST CANT FIX THIS AND IT IS KILLING ME .... I JUST WANT HIM TO GET A BREAK AND HAVE A HALF WAY DECENT LIFE WITH DAYS WITHOUT PAIN .... NOW I NEED TO CALL MY MOM AND MAKE SURE SHE IS OK .... WHEN I TALKED TO MY SIL I KNOW SHE WAS WORRIED AND CRYING AND TRYING TO BE STRONG ... AND OFCOURSE I CANT MAKE HER FEEL BETTER EITHER .... SO PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM .... I had the same thing happen to me in 1995......I had been having problems with Diverticulitis for years. I went in for a colonoscopy........and the Doctor found that I had a kink in my colon with a big pocket of infection behind it....... They wound up doing emergency surgery.....and thought I would have to have a colostomy bag. Turned out that they were able to do a colon resection.....removing about 12 inches of my colon ....then reattaching the two ends, I havn't had any problems since then. My Daughter had to have the same surgury just last year......and is doing fine now. My Mother had the same problem.....I don't know what they did in her case....I do know that she didn't have to have a colostomy either. Here's hoping your brother will be able to have the same luck. My ex-daughter-in-laws father had colon cancer, had the same surgery and didn't have to have a colostomy either.He was given only a 50-50 chance of surviving the cancer when first diagnosed.
