Guest guest
I wanted to add a note to this. In my message I implied that a cerclage is necessary for all T-shaped uterus pregnancies. I apologize if this was misleading. Obviously it is not always necessary to have a cerclage as we know some on this board who did not need it during their pregnancy. I just saw my new ObGyn who seems more knowledgable on this subject than any other doctor I've seen and he said that a cerclage is not usually put in during the first pregnancy. It is usually only done after the person has experienced a miscarriage due to incompetent cervix. Incompetent cervix is common for those with T-shaped uterus, but maybe not everyone who has a T-shaped uterus has an incompetent cervix. He did also suggest that if the cervix was dialating premeturely that a cerclage would be put it. He said that the reason it is not done unless absolutely necessary is that there is a risk of scarring to the uterus. Does anyone know anything about this? What are the risks of scarring to the uterus compared to the risks of miscarrying with a T- shaped uterus (or any other MA for that matter)? Thank you for any feedback on this.
