Guest guest
.. you say: " I' m spiraling down into a pit of depression the last few weeks. " It is very very normal to begin a stage of depression after the holidays ... no matter how good .. or how bad they were .. depression usually sets in. It is normal.. do not feel it is something you have done that has caused it. The anger you are feeling is your body's way of fighting the depression ... take the energy you are feeling from the anger and put it to use .. when you feel like you cant do a damn thing .. then force yourself to get up and do it.. so what if it takes you two days to vacuum a floor that used to take you a half hour to do?? at least you are trying and not rotting away in depression. No .. you are not going to be healthy again .. but there will be good days .. if you give up now .. you will miss those good days and maybe even miss the chance of making a new friend. No .. you cant bathe in the sunlight .. but you can put on some sunscreen and go sit by a lake in the park for an hour or so .. no you cant spend all day hiking .. but you can walk or use a wheelchair or a walker and go to the park for 15 minutes. You just have to get up and do it. You can play fetch with your dog .. just put him on a long long leash .. take him to the park .. just getting away from the house will be a treat for him .. he doesn't care if you cant throw the ball all day! My shepherd is happy if I just kick his toy around for a couple of minutes so he can chase it. So your children wont come by .. that is THEIR loss! Instead .. volunteer to watch kids for an hour at an area church during church service. Churches have a heck of a time getting people to volunteer for an hour so the kids' parents can attend service without dragging their lovely screaming meemies with them. So what if you are angry at God .. go ahead .. holler at him .. at least you are still talking to him .. he wont care .. he will understand your frustration.. Just remember .. it is not God's fault we are ill .. FATE ... LIFE .. LUPUS is what has made us ill .. God gives us the strength to make it through the havoc and chaos. Take the rage you are feeling and use the energy to write articles to area newspapers .. ask them why they don't give more coverage to the disease .. contact the reporter who does the TV health programs on the nightly or noon day news ... ask them " when they are going to do another program on Lupus? " Put that rage to work! No one there? No one to help you ?? excuse me .. but who do you think we are? We are here to listen to you .. to talk to you .. if you need me to call you on the phone .. let me know .. or call me .. . Now that I am through kicking your butt .. know this .. I love you .. I have been where you are at .. and I know how frustrated you are feeling .. just don't you dare give up! We need your input for this group .. you are needed here just as much as you need us. Call your doctor .. tell him you need help .. now .. not tomorrow .. not next week .. now! loving hugs and smooches .. " Rion "

We all get to where you are sometimes, and for some of us it lasts longer and is stronger than for others, but we get through it with a little help from our friends. WE are your friends, honey. We are always here if you need us. Get to the doc's office, talk with him/her about what you are feeling, and get some help in that direction, too. Please, for us.
