Guest guest
Lets see, my list of drugs consist of: xanax for anxiety paxil for depression celebrex plaquinel methotrexate folic acid actonel prilosec synthroid danazol pamelor only as needed singulair advair albuteral The celebrex, plaquinel and methotrexate are for the lupus and have really helped me alot. And if your thinking of jumping, call the dr and see about going back on your antidepressant. I am finally able to start cutting back on mine after many years and so far so good. But they sure made a big and great difference in my life.

Guest guest
Donnasue, Since we have other Donnas in the group, I hope you don't mind if I run your name all together like your email addy? Anyhow, welcome to the group, and yes, you should get started on a good antidepressant. As you may know, it can take a while to find the right one, so before you feel too desperate, please get started on the search. You may be lucky and find the right one for you, right away. I pray for that. As for the weight gain, if you have not changed your diet significantly, but your activity level is severely reduced due to pain and fatigue, that can account for the weight gain. You might also have the doctors check your blood sugars, especially if you are inactive due to Lupus symptoms. I know about this because I, myself, am a giant, economy sized person, and know what it is to fight for a lifetime to be thinner and win an occasional battle but lose the war. LOL I live in no. California, about 50 miles from San Francisco in the Sonoma Wine country...about 30 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. We get the benefit of the cool ocean breezes most of the hot months of the year, and the more temperate climate in winter. Right now, it is rainy, but not too cold for which I am grateful. I was dx'd with SLE, RA, Sjogren's, Lyme Disease, Anemia, Myofibrositis, and non-insulin dependent Diabetes all between the ages of 30 and 45 (I am now 54.), but my weird symptoms started when I was ten. Even then I was treated like it was "all in my head". LOL I am the single, adoptive mother of four, grandmother of two, and have two young boys still to raise living at home. They are 11 and 15 years old. Quite a challenge. I retired on my organization's disability and pensions when I had worked for over 23 years for the one education organization, and after over 27 years working for the education system in my state. That was over 6 years ago. I am a full time mother, part time advocate for adoptive families, part time artist when my hands will cooperate, and full time SLE+ patient. Life is a mixture of rest, housework, mothering, and trying to fit some energy in for other things like a social life. Not easy, but I like a challenge, and as you know, Lupus IS nothing if not a challenge. LOL I believe you will find this group to be intelligent, caring, supportive, well informed, funny, and very willing to share their experiences with and around Lupus. We are all trying to cope, all in the same boat. If one of us needs to rest on our oars, the rest will pick up the slack. So, again, welcome, and please tell us more about YOU.
