Hi Angie, I have a suggestion for keeping the poor stray cat warm , We used to run an extention cord out to the dog house in the garage, and put a light bulb in there. I f you could fashion something like that in the `cat cave' ,maybe it would help.

Just a suggestion.

The house is actually warm till a good stiff wind comes up and then the furnace is back on kicking the cold out. And of course the other day my family was adopted by a stray cat. She is a perfectly loving cat with loads of love to pass out. I can't bring her in the house due to her not liking my dogs and vice versa. I managed to make a bed against the wall to my kitchen in the garage for her but am still worried about her with the wind chills. My husband thinks I'm nuts because I have tried making a cat cave for her to crawl in. I took a wire coat hanger and pinned a towel around it, inserted some cotten batting, and shaped it. She

the cat thinks I'm alittle nuts too as she wouldn't go in it for about 3 hours. She is somewhat wild too as she is afraid of everything yet wants it all. She freaks out over the car comming in and out of the garage and over the doors opening and closing. I just hope she makes it through the winter. Well time for the boys to get up so, I'm outta here. Have a good day. Angie, you are not nuts. I would do the same for the cat. Years ago we had

a cat who we thought was coming and going through out back yard. Well, she

wasn't. She was living here. She had a whole bunch of kittens between the

fence and our garage. Five of them. So we took care of them and fed them.

She would only allow myself and my mom-in-law near her, but would always

warn off her children whenever we were coming near. When the kittens were

big enough to tend for themselves she left and I only saw her a few times

more. She would come into our yard now and then and wait for me to pet her

eventhough she was a wild cat. We couldn't take the cats in, my hubby can

handle one cat with his allergies (he can't touch the cat), but with more

than one his allergies go nuts. So, we tried everything possible to make

them comfortable during the 1995 snowy winter. Two of them were adopted by

friends, and boy did we have a hard time catching the little guys - they

were still wild, but adjusted to their new homes very well. The other three

moved over across the street to my kids adoptive grandparents. This

gentleman just has a way with animals. Everything comes to him and he still

has the cats.

I think a person who is sensitive to an animals well being is a kind

hearted person. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You are not nuts.
