Guest guest
, you are NOT alone. There is a group I am going to give you the link to that is for Gastric bypass patients who got prego after, even early like you and all has been well. I am currently 32 weeks but i was 1 yr postop when i got prego and I was not the most fertile person in the world either. had many years of infertilty and treatments before conceiving my first babies. Now i have been pregnant 2 times since surgery, the first was a miscarraige but got rpego again within 3-4 months. You can still do quite well. Make sure to get in your vitamins for sure, get in 800 mcg folic acid to help prevent birth defects, take your calcium and b-12 and usually the ob will give you an additional prenatal to take on top of all your regualr things and they do have chewable prenatals so ask about them. ANd then juste at the best healthy things you can. You will probably continue to lose weight right straight thru this but the baby will get his/her nourishment from you first and you get whats left so baby should be fine, you may get a bit tired but that is normal. here is the link to the group you should join OSSG-pregnant-subscribe . Good luck with everything. God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY Age- 41 EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
I CANNOT BELIEVE that your doctors didn't tell you to be carefull. That's all they did with me was stress over and over and over again about how easy it is to get pregnant after surgery cause you hormones are all WACKY and stuff. If I was you I would be totally ticked and the doctors for not warning you to take precautions!!! I wish you the best of luck hun. And with all other things aside, Congrats on God's blessing. I'm sure everything will be fine. in MI 8 wks Post-Op 317/275/????
Guest guest
, CONGRATS!!!! On your being blessed with child. I too got prego after surgery . 2 mos after my surgery I found out I was preg. I conceived 3 weeks after surgery. I had gone through infertility treatments and many many years before conceiving with my older daughter all of 2 1/2yrs old. So I never thought it could happen again! Boy was I wrong. It was a bit difficult emotionally at first, because I was mentally set to start losing weight after all that's why I went through with the surgery in the first place and the thought of gaining with being pregnant really had me worried. I continued to lose weight throughout my pregnancy and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. She was a little underweight but still healthy. My dr. ordered ultrasounds every couple of weeks to monitor baby's growth especially towards the end while I was still dropping weight. Keeping up with vitamins and lots of vegies and walking really helped. I wish you the best of luck and if there's anything I can do to help you along please don't hesitate. Been there and done that.. :-) 326/180 5/17/03-lap
