Guest guest
EXAM: Cerebral MR Angiogram TECHNIQUE: An MR angiogram was performed predominately through the circle of Willis with a 3.D time-of-flight technique using FISP 3D pulse sequences with four 32 mm thick slab with 40 individual partitions yielding 0.8 mm slice thicknesses in the axial and coronal planes. Images were reconstructed with maximum density projection in a 3-D plane. FINDINGS: The cerebral MR angiogram demonstrates patency of both internal carotid arteries with a normal bifurcation into the anterior and middle cerebrals. The upper portion of the cerebral arteries, the basilar artery, and its major branches are adequately demonstrated. There is no evidence of an aneurysm, significant stenosis, nor arteriovenvous malformation. The superior sagittal sinus, transverse sinuses and sigmoid sinuses are patent. IMPRESSION: 1. Normal cerebral MR angiogram ----- I am wondering......if the basilar artery (and its major branches) are adequately demonstrated ...... if I were to actually have basilar artery migraines, wouldn't it show up here????
