I'm sure you can do it if you set your mind to it. You seem to be very

dedicated to taking the weight off, which I truly commend you for. I

agree that if your mother is indeed that type of person, you are

probably better off without her in your life. There are just some ppl

(regardless if they are family or not) that have a way of bringing us

down and life is too short for that.

Oh Dawn!! I am glad I am not alone. Actually you are probably better off.

Diet coke contains aspertame. That is nasty stuff. Although, you can use

regular coke to clean a car battery too. Amazing how our brains work. We

know its bad, but we continue to do it. We can slap each other on the hand,

ok??

Hi, . Wow, since your son is the first to graduate, this must be a very

exciting time for you all. It's nice that your daughter is still going to be

home with mom once your son goes off to college. You can have some nice

mother/daughter moments. I'm sorry to hear your hip is still bothering you. It

must be awful. Have you tried laying on a heating pad?? Just an idea....

Take care,

Dawn

My husband is a freight supervisor at a trucking company. He has been there

going on 13 years and hates it more and more every day. He gets great

benefits though so we really can't afford to lose that. He just gets

frustrated easily and he knows the terminal inside and out and has done every

job there. He got a new boss about 8 months ago and he does things

differently. My hubby is still trying to 'retrain' the boss!!! hehe. We are

very fortunate, we don't even pay a premium on our health insurance. Just

copays. He does love the fact that he can wear shorts every day. Even in

the winter. I can count on one hand the times he wears long pants during the

year!!! He is the typical Southern California boy, born and raised....

I am anxious to pick Brody up today. He cried when I left him today. He said

'i want to go home.....'. I felt bad.

Yes, it stinks doesn't it? What does your hubby do? Mine's a plumber. Your

kids must miss your hubby, too.

I know about FREEZING!!! I grew up in Northern Wisconsin. I was so stubborn

one time in high school and wanted to wear my cute little blue flats that had

a metallic tinge to them (SO KWEL), anyways, it was about 30 below with

windchill.......brrrr and I would NOT wear socks with those shoes, it would

totally ruin the look. So, needless to say, the school bus was late that

morning and by the time it got there, my feet were the same color as my

shoes!!! I wore socks all the time after that!! heheh. Dumb kids-ey???

You're lucky you didn't get frost-bite. LOL. Actually, I'm just the opposite.

I grew up in FL., so I didn't do any of that dumb kid stuff. However, I also

never had any of the fun kids had in the snow. Like sliding, ice skating, snow

angels, etc., so I'm not much help to my kids when they want to do some of that

fun stuff. Oh well, lucky hubby grew up up here.

Oh we had so much fun in the winters. We grew up on a lake too, so every

winter we would clear an ice skating rink. If we were lucky my dad would let

us use his snow plow and we would make ice trails all over and out to the

island. We could spend hours on there. During the summer was just as fun.

We spent every day at the beach..Oh, I miss those days when my mom would just

send us girls down by ourselves and not worry. I guess I don't ever remember

not knowing how to swim. She didn't let us go alone until we were teens tho.

But we could be gone for hours in the forest next to our house and she never

had to worry. Now I worry about Kylie getting home from the bus stop. Things

sure have changed...

Yes, they have. I don't let the girls out of my sight when I'm out anywhere

with

them, for fear that someone will snatch them. Scary.....
