Need some advice really quick about my son

Sorry this is off-topic. My ll y/o son has an ear infection and

possibly a sinus infection. He had a cold that I think turned into the

secondary infections. He's had a fever off and on since Monday and

yesterday his ear started really hurting. He's also had the other ear

infection symptoms - dizziness, etc.

So my question is - should I take him to the dr and get him on

antibiotics? We really try to avoid those for all the reasons we all

know. But he is so miserable and I just don't know if this will clear

up on its own. I've read that most cases of ear infections don't

require antibiotics to recover. But I just don't know how long to let

this go.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

April

April,

This is a hard call...my son used to suffer from terrible ear

infections and I always ended up running to the emergency room and

getting him on amoxycilin. This was before I got sick from implants

and knew to question it all. One time they did not get him in soon

enough, and his ear drum burst right there on the table in the

emergency room. It must have been horrible for him. But the good

news is that he survived!

Here are my suggestions: Get him on some raw garlic as soon as you

can. We eat it with cooked chicken and just eat as many cloves as we

can get down. Garlic is a tremendous antibiotic that is all natural

and as effective as penicillin. The ideal situation is to get it

down the hatch as early as you can when an infection is starting, as

that is when it is most effective. But if you can get it down now,

it may still help.

You may need to get the antibiotics anyway, if he is in terrible pain.

There is one other therapy that you can check out on the internet,

and that is to use hydrogen peroxide drops in the ear. It will pop

and fizz and make alot of noise, but that is the H2O2 doing it's

thing. We have used H2O2 in our ears in my house, with no pain or

side effects; however, I have heard from two other people that it

hurt when they put it in. So, please check it out first and see how

comfortable you feel with it.

Let us know how it goes.....praying he feels better fast.
