I received cards a few weeks back and a package just before the Demo Convention. It was the same day I was coerced into a family vacation. My wife could not work the week of the convention because they reduced the work force to only the most essential personnel. So off to a Lake with no phone; no computer access; and no cell phone signal for 20 miles. they need that "can you hear me now guy" up there. I did manage to relax and get a lot of reading done and watched my son & niece play in the lake.

I've been dealing with all of my Dr's at the same time trying to coordinate a possible surgery I don't want. I injured my neck several years ago and a disc has been slowly but surely scrunching down and pushing the disc stuff into the spinal column. Get electrical type jolts everywhere if I sneeze (allergy season) or cough (asthma) very interesting phenomena. One neurosurgeon says to get off the Methotrexate for 3 months before surgery. The Rheumy says no way I'll not just lose remission I'll go big time relapse in less than a month probably but 6-7 weeks at most and will take a year or more to get remission again. My regular Neurologist called last night and said he wants me to get a 2nd opinion which is fine by me but raises concern as to why he suddenly has gotten quite cautious about it. He recommended the first neurosurgeon as well as this second coming up. I'm told by one Dr it will eliminate most of the daily pain I "enjoy". The asthma breathing problems are a major concern going under for a couple of hours. I'm told the benefits outweigh the risks. It sure is for them.

I haven't mentioned it before because I think you each suffer a lot more than I do and I think I sound like I'm whining when I talk about it. I've lost the feeling in about 75% of the left arm and 50% in the left leg. I'm told don't go to a Chiropractor no matter what I do. But the chiropractor is the only one that has provided relief the past 7 months. 2 bouts of Physical therapy did nothing. I still go to the Chiro 3 times a week. Well Wah Wah Wah I've dumped it out. Yeah it does feel better.

Thanks SS and everyone else.

Bob...you should pop in more often! but we're alrways glad to hear from you when you do.

Sorry you have such tough decisions to make. Surgery anywhere on the spine is always a tough decision...and, I'm sorry to throw this in, but it is true...always a crap shoot.

The vacation sounds like heaven to me!
