Guest guest
Hi . I had my su resected about a month and half ago using hyst only, but i did have a lap to remove an infection on my ovary so I can tell you you'll need about a week to recoup, bring a pillow with you and hold it again your stomach for the ride home, those bumps and potholes can be a real killer. As for the hyst I only had pain right after the surgery when i woke up, the nurse gave me a shot of something, bless her and i went back to sleep for about 6 more hours. After that I didn't have any significant pain. I bleed heavily for about a week and lightly for about 10 days. I hope I answered some of your questions. Good luck, . > Hello Ladies, > > I have been diagnosed with a su. I am going on Monday 11/10 for a > lap/hyst. Guest guest
Hi ! I had the lap/hyst on 10/24. I was really nervous too. I had never had any kind of surgery before. It really wasn't a big deal. Try to get a good night's sleep the night before. Be sure to wear loose clothing (I wore overall's, so nothing would touch my belly). My doctor made me get up and move the day after surgery. I walked a couple of miles and it helped work the CO2 out of my belly. Honestly, the worst part was the gas that they pump into you to blow your belly up so that they don't hit anything. It puts pressure on your diaphram, which weirdly enough causes pain in your right chest and shoulder. That was a little weird and uncomfortable, but the walking did help with that. I took my pain meds for about 4 days. After that, I was fine and I'm a real weeny with pain. You'll be fine. My only other advice is to make sure your anestheologist gives you something to settle your stomach, so that you don't wake up sick. I made a big deal about that and I didn't have any problems. In fact, I woke up starving. Good luck, and feel free to ask any other questions you might have. Jane > Hello Ladies, > > I have been diagnosed with a su. I am going on Monday 11/10 for a > lap/hyst. Guest guest
- I wasn't resected, as they found that I was a fused UD, but I found the surgery to be relatively an easy one. I spent a few days on the couch and a few more resting and was back to work and pretty much full speed by the Monday after my Tuesday surgery. I will keep you in my thoughts, fused UD-

Guest guest
Hi , I had the lap/hyst in July. I had never had surgery before that. I was pretty nervous about it, but it ended up being no big deal. Make sure you wear loose fitting clothes to the surgery, and plan to do the same at home for a few days after. Your belly will be swollen and it will be sore at the incision sites. I had minor pain at the incision sites and no pain from the hyst. (I had a septum removed and expected to be sore down there, but wasn't.) The biggest deal for me was the nausea after the surgery from the anasthesia. Your mouth is really dry when you wake up, so they offered me ice chips, water and juice. I was fine with ice chips and water, but the apple juice was not a good idea. I'd avoid it even if you're feeling OK. It made me sick a few times. They kept giving me something for the nausea, which made me dead tired. The nausea passed, and I was OK on the car ride home, althouth a bit out of it. Your throat will be sore because they put a breathing tube in. You might want to have hard candy or tea around the day after your surgery. I rested the night of the surgery (was able to eat crackers before bed) and the whole following day. I felt OK after that, although I tired more easily than normal for about 4 days after the surgery. I was able to resume working out (running) a week and a half post- surgery. I know it's hard, but try not to stress about the surgery. It will be fine. Let us know if you have other questions.
