Guest guest
Hi , So glad to hear you are feeling better. Seems to me that those with pancreatic problems have bouts of attacks and then do OK for a while and then it starts over. Makes me wonder what triggers it - if it is different for everyone (with Lupus) or fairly different. As far a weakness goes - I am never comfortable having a shower without someone knowing that's what I am doing. I'm now using a shower chair which helps a lot. I have these episodes (or whatever you want to call it) when I either have to sit down or fall down. I had this happen twice while shopping and ended up on the floor. I use a cane when I go out now and I also limit the amount of time I'm out. - I've been really worried about you and am relieved to hear of your improvement. I don't remember who joined the group when. a C was a member when I joined. I think you were too, so am sure you know her. I hope the two of you can compare notes along with Mojo and other with pancreas problems. Re: a from W a,thanks for all the info. I do have phenergan suppositories and they havesaved me from an ER trip many times! The main thing is that once the paingets beyond about a 7, the oral pain med is just not gonna get it undercontrol, even if I can keep it down. Some ER doctors understand that.Others have some kind of God complex and are just determined that I am justa druggy and go to the ER for fun! I have a feeling that I will be able toget things worked out with my local hospital, it's just going to take alittle time.I am doing better. I actually ate just a little bit of chicken on Sundayafternoon. I'm still being very careful with my diet. I've now progressedto having diarrhea, which always happens about 3 days after a badpancreatitis attack. It is normally a good sign that things are improving, but still annoying. I don't want to take anything for the diarrhea thoughbecause constipation is so often a very serious problem for me. I had theceliac plexus block yesterday. It is a block that is supposed to block thenerves around the pancreas and help with the pain. I'm not really sure ifit worked or not, but my pain did seem to be somewhat less today. However, earlier today I felt so incredibly weak. I ended up calling my mom andasking her to come over for a bit. I was so weak that I was afraid to takea shower without having someone in the house. I have NEVER felt that way inmy life! I feel much better this evening. My mom was so worried that shewanted to spend the night over here but I really was much better by the timeI sent her home. My hubby is still off work from his knee surgery but hewent to the Atlanta area with his sister to visit the other sister. I knewhe was getting stir crazy. He had knee surgery on Dec 17th and he has neverbeen off work this long. He also rarely gets to visit his sisters becausehe only gets 10 vacation days a year. I knew the time away would be goodfor him and my mom and stepdad are only 10 minutes away from me.Anyway, I think maybe I am on the mend. Just gonna mostly chill tiltomorrow evening. I'm hoping I'll be up to going to a movie and dinner withhubby and friends tomorrow evening.Hope everyone else is doing well.
