Guest guest
Dear a B, I agree with you about the subject line......Especially since I have been having so much trouble with my computer, I try to scan for things I would be interested in, and not read every post. C. a B wrote: Hi All - I have been paying attention lately to what has been written on the Subject line of our posts. For example: the first post could be titled 'Cookie Run', and talk about the fantasy trip we went on. Then as the conversation evolves from fantasy to how someone has pancreas trouble when they eat nuts, the subject line will probably still read 'Cookie Run.' My concern is that someone totally unconcerned about joining our cookie run may be having pancreatic problems and would have liked to read the post about how eating nuts bothers someone. It is easy to go from 'Cookie Run' to 'Pancreas when you think that the imaginary person here with pancreas trouble noticed it the first time when eating cookies, or some such silly thing. I hope I am making sense here. I have been trying to update the subject line when I post something. There has been times when I have seen my name on the subject line and the post has had nothing at all to do with me, but 6 posts earlier it may did. So - let's all make a better effort to be sure the subject line of a post actually has something to do with what is said in the post. Many of our members screen posts by the subject line and I'm sure they are missing out on some good information. Remember, if you make the decision to respond to a post, once you click on the reply button that post belongs to you. It is your responsibility to be sure the subject line is correct. This has been something I am VERY lax in doing when I write a post. I NEVER make New Year's Resolutions, so please don't mistake this for one, but I am going to work on this.
