BITING :(

Our daughter is 2 1/2, she has LGS, and is currently taking depakote

&

Topamax. (we are about to start the diet) THe problem we are having

is she

is biting everyone. She started this at 18 mos, but at that age we

figured

it was a " stage " and she would grow out of it. Well that hasn't

happened.

It wasn't so bad for a while but just recently she has started

again. She

is a big kisser, loves to blow kisses and is always kissing

everyone, but

sometimes she bites. Especially my husband and our other child who

is only

6 mos old. If we go to a play group I have to stay right on top of

her

because she is so quick, one minute you think she is going to kiss

and

then she bites. Its never on the face or anything like that, but

always on

the hands, fingers, arms & shoulders. At first we thought it was a

jealousy thing with the baby, but it isn't just the baby that she

bites.

Has anyone run into this with LGS? She first started biting when we

started klonopin, but she hasn't been on that for over 2 mos. I am

starting to wonder if it could be the topamax, or maybe just

the " attention getting behavior " that I have heard comes along with

LGS???

Any discipline advice? She is developmentally delayed and nothing

seems to

work. Its like she completely forgets what she did wrong after 1

minute. I

will take any ideas.

Thanks Keri

That is not the first time I have heard that. We have tried (probably not hard

enough). Trust me she is not the devil but most of the time she thinks it is

funny. Unfortunately for her the baby is teething and soon enough he will get

his revenge.

THanks for the idea

Keri
